What is a labyrinth?
A labyrinth is a single path that winds toward the center. It is often used as a way to leave the outside world and connect with God. It is a way to be transformed, reduce stress, or be open to change.
A labyrinth is not a maze. There is one way from the entrance to the center, and then in reverse from the center back out.
There are three stages to walking a labyrinth:

- Walking in on the grass path,
- Being in the center, and
- Walking out retracing your steps.
Building the labyrinth
The 42’ x 33’ limestone labyrinth was installed in 2026 by church members, scouts, and friends. The project began with extensive research of other sites and was designed by Daniel S. as an Eagle Scout project. The shape incorporates a medieval inspired five circuit circular layout with a modern square design reflecting the shape of the stained-glass windows in our sanctuary. The limestone was specifically sourced from Stone City, Iowa, to coordinate with the existing limestone accents throughout the church.
