For Children
Sunday School starts the Sunday after Labor Day!
Sunday School classes for Preschool through 6th grade meet after church at 10:45 (September-May). Kids work together and play together as they learn stories from the Bible. At the beginning of Sunday School the children meet in the sanctuary for opening and children's choir time. We welcome all children to learn with us!
We have Vacation Bible School, presentation of Bibles, Backpack Dedication Sunday, Children's Christmas Program, Advent Festival, Lent pretzel making, Children's time during worship, annual family camp out, and more for children at church.

Family Fun Events
Family fun events are planned off and on throughout the year to provide families with children an opportunity to have fun together. Examples might be family bike rides, game nights, nature exploration, holiday parties, etc.
Child Protection Policy
We conscientiously protect children and youth in our care. Students are our most important responsibility and joy in the faith. Our policy approved and in practice since 2012 is as follows:
First Presbyterian Church near Ely strives to provide a safe and secure environment for the children and youth who participate in our programs and activities. Our goal is to protect children/youth and our staff/volunteers.
1. All employees, and those adult volunteers involved with any activity involving a minor are required to sign a release form which the church will keep on file that allows the church to request a criminal background check.
2. All volunteers must be involved with the church for at least six months before they are allowed in any volunteer position involving contact with minors.
3. No minor should be alone with only one adult in any church-sponsored activity, unless in a counseling situation.
