Kolach Kamp and Kolach Kare
Baking together is an enjoyable time as women and men work together and share stories and laughter. It seems like an echo from the past; how people used to work together, not only for baking, but for sharing information, solutions to problems, advice, camaraderie and moral support. Kolach Kamp produces kolaches, but it also produces Christian fellowship and FUN!
As more and more church members have become skilled kolach bakers, we opened our Kolach Kamp up to the community and invited friends and neighbors to learn the art from our experienced bakers. There is a minimal fee to cover the cost of dough and fillings. Participants also receive a booklet with kolach and filling recipes.
We hold baking sessions and some of which are open to new learners. Often we schedule them to coincide with special weekends, such as: Valentine’s Day, Father’s Day, our annual Tractor Ride in August, and as promotion for our October Soup Supper.
Some flavors offered are: cherry (most popular), apricot, peach, grape, apple, red raspberry, black raspberry, prune, poppy seed, blueberry, rhubarb, and strawberry. Many fillings are home-grown from our own gardens.

Kolach Kare
We started Kolach Kare to reach out to our community. Each time we bake, plates of kolaches are shared with home-bound friends and neighbors, or people with recent illnesses or hospitalizations. It brings a smile to their faces and it is always appreciated. Even if they cannot eat the kolaches, they have something to offer others.
